Buyer answer

A capable outdoor blanket manufacturer should help the buyer define the use scene first, then connect shell fabric, filling weight, quilting, packed size, closure, branding and packaging in one sample specification. A puffer blanket may work for travel, patio, stadium or camping use; a ground-use picnic mat follows a different backing and moisture-control route.

Choose by program

Three outdoor blanket routes, one sourcing decision.

Do not begin with a generic blanket quotation. Begin with the target channel, intended use and packed-size expectation.

Packable puffer blanket

Built around warmth, low packed volume and repeated storage. Shell, fill and quilting need to be evaluated as one construction.

Stadium or wearable blanket

Snap placement, logo visibility, edge reinforcement and simple pack-away use matter more than adding features without a channel reason.

Material route

Match shell and fill to print, handfeel and packed volume.

Polyester taffetaA practical first route when the program needs cost control and large-area printed artwork.
NylonA higher-cost route for a softer handfeel and premium outdoor positioning; print requirements should be reviewed early.
20D pongeeAn optional premium skin-side route when soft touch matters and the buyer accepts the higher material and print cost.
Filling weightOwner experience uses 60-80gsm as a starting point for gift and merchandise programs, while 180-200gsm may suit more substantial outdoor use. Final selection must be confirmed by the approved sample and intended climate.

Important: water-resistant, thermal and recovery claims must be tied to the selected fabric, finish, fill and agreed test method. They are not universal category promises.

Customization system

Build the product and its retail presentation together.

The blanket, storage bag, labels and packaging should use one approved artwork and color-control path.

StructureQuilting layout, edge finish, corner loops, wearable snaps and reversible construction.
BrandingPrinted artwork, woven label, care label, logo patch, hangtag and barcode placement.
PackabilityOpen size, packed size, storage-bag opening, drawcord or closure, carton efficiency.
PackagingCarry bag, belly band, insert card, individual packing, master-carton mark and e-commerce needs.

Sample and bulk control

Inspect the failures that product photography cannot show.

01
Filling movementReview whether the fill is continuous and whether quilting spacing is suitable for the chosen construction.
02
Compression recoveryCompare the blanket before packing and after recovery; do not assume all recycled or virgin fill routes behave the same.
03
Stitching and stress pointsCheck quilting, edge seams, snap reinforcement, corner loops and the storage-bag opening.
04
Print and pack consistencyApprove artwork position, color reference, care-label content, fold method and packaging presentation before bulk production.

Development workflow

Move from buyer brief to repeatable bulk specification.

Timing and production feasibility are confirmed after the construction, artwork, quantity per SKU and packaging route are reviewed.

01

Define use

Target market, channel, climate, blanket format, open size and packed-size expectation.

02

Set materials

Shell, skin-side fabric, fill weight, quilting, snaps, carry bag and branding method.

03

Approve sample

Handfeel, artwork, stitch quality, fill balance, recovery, labels, folding and packaging.

04

Control bulk

Retain the approved standard and inspect workmanship, color, dimensions and packing against it.

Collection extension

Use the blanket as part of a coordinated outdoor program.

LISO's stronger position is not an isolated blanket. The same color or artwork direction can extend into patio cushions, chair pads, outdoor pillows, cooler bags and selected picnic products, with scale and material adjusted by category.

Market-ready labeling

Label and packaging requirements depend on the destination market and final product classification. US buyers should review applicable FTC textile labeling guidance; EU buyers should review Regulation (EU) No 1007/2011. LISO can prepare labels to an approved buyer specification, but the buyer remains responsible for confirming market-specific legal requirements.

Buyer FAQ

Questions to resolve before sampling.

What type of outdoor blanket does this page cover?

This page owns packable puffer outdoor blankets, including camping, car-travel, stadium, wearable-snap and patio-add-on routes. Waterproof ground-use picnic mats and sand-focused beach mats are separate constructions with separate commercial owners.

Which shell fabric should a buyer choose?

Polyester taffeta is a practical first route for printed programs and cost control. Nylon may suit a softer, more premium route. A 20D pongee skin-side can be evaluated for selected premium constructions. The right choice depends on print, handfeel, use scene and budget.

How should filling weight be selected?

Begin with the channel and packed-size target. Lighter 60-80gsm routes may suit gifts and branded merchandise; 180-200gsm may suit a more substantial outdoor program. These are development starting points, not universal performance guarantees.

What determines production feasibility and MOQ?

Fabric availability, custom print, fill, quilting, trims, storage bag, labels, packaging and quantity per SKU all affect feasibility. LISO confirms the route after reviewing the complete brief rather than publishing one fixed MOQ for every construction.

What should be included in an outdoor blanket RFQ?

Send the use scene, target market, open and packed size, preferred fabric, filling direction, artwork, branding, quantity per SKU, packaging and required sample or launch timing.
